There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn a little about me.
Hi there! Thank you for visiting my website.
So, who am I? Well, putting aside the existential nature of the question, I'm a yoga teacher at world-famous YogaWorks in Washington, DC, where I also teach at other renowned studios including Georgetown Yoga, DuPont Circle Yoga, The Yoga Shala, and Yoga NoMa.
However, I'm not just your average RYT. 😉 I am also an attorney and hold an MBA with a concentration in finance. I grew up in the South and have traveled extensively around the US and the world.
How on Earth did I ever get into yoga? Well, like many people, I came to yoga after accumulating some injuries and enduring a couple of big losses along the way. Several years ago, I left my job in law and pursued other interests, mainly travel overseas. I did photography and some other hobbies along the way. As I took that path of exploration, I saw more things than I could ever explain and learned many valuable lessons along the way.
Eventually, I found yoga. For a long time, I was hesitant to try yoga because I stigmatized it as being "exercise for chicks." I started my journey by studying tantra, which eventually led me to trying yoga itself. I knew after my first yoga class that yoga had incredible power to change me and my life for the better.
After a few years of on-and-off practice, I got into a regular yoga routine a few years ago and began to really experience the power of the practice to heal, restore, and transform.
I completed my 200-hour training in Ubud, Bali, the yoga capital of East Asia. I was privileged to study with Joe Barnett and Jo Phee, who are themselves senior students of and instructors for Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers, who together are credited as the "founders" of modern yin yoga.
For the last two years, I have had the privilege to train with Sarah and Ty Powers in Italy, China, and around the world. I'm nearing the completion of a 500-hour certification with their institute, the Insight Yoga Institute. Ty power also serves as my mentor.
I am also studying with yin yoga founder Paul Grilley working toward a separate 500-hour certification with him and his wife Suzee Grilley. When I am with them, I also have the pleasure of spending a lot of time with their dog, Bindu. 😊
In the next few months, I will also complete a 300-hour advanced teacher training with YogaWorks in Washington, DC. Part of that training includes assisting in the YogaWorks 200-hour training program for new teachers.
In addition, I continue to train with Jo Phee and Joe Barnett, and I have assisted Joe in teacher training as we try to spread the work of our primary teacher, Paul Grilley, to the next generation of yoga teachers.
Oh, I'm also a festival guy! I have worked with Wanderlust and assisted DJ Taz Rashid.
I hope to share the power of yin yoga with you. It is transformative and so badly needed in today's hectic times, especially those of us caught in an urban life. Join me and let me show you the benefits of yin. It would be my privilege.

As cliché as it may sound, yoga has completely changed my life. Through this path, I have transformed and now am essentially a doppelgänger of my former self. Yes, I look pretty much the same, but what is inside is completely different.

Join me and let me show you the benefits of yoga and meditation!
It would be my honor and privilege to be your teacher!
